The Last Day

“For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'” Romans 14:7-12

This is one of the most freeing and powerful reminders the Holy Spirit gives to believers about their relationships.  A day is approaching for every one of us when we’ll meet God face to face and be recognized as to the life we lived.  In the end, His approval and opinion are the only things that will matter that day.  This means that God’s Man can love, connect and change aggressively to make his relationships healthy, because he lives for an audience of one. This was the approach of Jesus while on earth; fearless before men as He sacrificially loved people and pleased the Father to whom He was returning.  You exist to please God alone, so live for an audience of one.

Be aware that when we face Jesus as Christians that very last day, we will be judged or be given an accounting for the rewards we will receive, guilt is gone. Romans 8:1 says, “There is no condemnation for those who love the Lord.” The accounting will be on the left side of the ledger, the Assets side of the ledger; this is for those who believe that Jesus paid it all. The accountability for sin will be on the Liabilities or the right side of the ledger, for those who refuse to accept his unconditional love and grace. We do what we do out of gratitude for adopting us as his Children, not to give an account of what Jesus has already  paid for on the cross.

Thank you Father that you are my audience of One!
