I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8
We all have spent more money than we planned to spend under the whole guise of something being on sale, making a decision because we don’t want to miss out on a good deal. If you stay up late you see paid programming take over – it’s all about the limited time offer and getting two Shamwow’s for the price of one. You go against your better judgment and common sense and before you know it you are sold. Just like Adam and Eve you got sold by a very slick salesman.
All of us have sold out our faith in response to a fear. When we do we violate our relationship with God. Thinking we are going to miss out, we self protect and self preserve, and in the process we become God. We become the author of our own decision making.
Fear opens the door to Satan and poor decision-making, faith opens the door to God and making good decisions. What’s wonderful about the Bible is that it shows all of these situations where God’s man has a choice to choose out of fear or choose out of faith. Abraham, David, Moses, Joshua, and Paul made faith decisions. Good examples, you think?
Father thank you for your Holy Spirit and how He helps me make proper choices.
