Some men have failed in their battle for sexual purity, and some have won. The difference? Those who won hated their impurity. They were going to war and were going to win - or die trying. Every resource was leveled upon the foe.
There will be no victory in this area of your life until you choose manhood with all your might.
Leading up to a decisive choice for sexual purity, we must make some hard choices and answer some hard questions:
- How long do I intend to stay ensnared?
- How long must my family wait?
- How long before I can look God in the eye?

God's man has to establish florescent lines in the sand that he simply will not cross so that he can accomplish God's purposes for his life. This requires humility, faith, and diligence: "Keep the rules and keep your life; careless living kills" (PROVERBS 19:16, MSG). Some ideas to consider:
- We can't just show up and expect to conquer temptations and direct attacks against our faith.
- We have to train ourselves in spiritual disciplines.
- We have to plan for temptation and think through dangerous scenarios ahead of time.
- We have to form a network of support that follows us wherever we go.
- We have to cooperate aggressively with others who support our spiritual goals.
Father, I very much need You to help me
walk faithfully on the path to doing Your
will in the advancement of Your kingdom.

Two millenniums ago, God's Son sacrificed His life so that we could live. We are able to live out our faith powerfully, knowing that Christ has given us eternal life with Him: "He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).
Becoming God's man hinges on what motivates us. And Scripture is clear regarding what we should place squarely at the center: God's man regards the unique and personal sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the single most powerful determinant of his choices - in every domain of life.
Commenting on this theme back in the late 1800s, British preacher Charles Spurgeon told the crowds flocking outside London's Metropolitan Tabernacle that there was only one motivation strong enough to keep them living a victorious life for God. "The most potent motive for holiness is free grace," Spurgeon stated, adding that we should be "moved by gratitude to a height of dedication and purity of obedience that mere legalism can never know."

In the company of women, we simply don't discuss the things we need to deal with as men, nor are our wives able to identify with most of the struggles we wrestle with.
Men who meet together regularly with the intention of spiritual growth often become accustomed to stepping into the hard spaces of one another's lives. They become so connected that no subject is taboo, especially if one of them is struggling with something. These men conduct spiritual business, study God's Word for advice they can trust, share their weaknesses with one another, pray for each other, and hold each other accountable to live as God's men.
Men do not become men in the company of women. It's simply the way God create us. Men become men in the company of men.

Sexual sin once robbed your heart of something very precious. Every little boys sees the fight for right and desires to be an agent of good, to be the good guy who saves the day. Every little boy has dreams and visions of one day being someone great and doing something great, but sexual sin often steals these drams away until heaven intervenes and recaptures them for God's man on the battlefield. Victory restores these hopes and renews the dreams that were once vaporized in the midst of sexual sin.
The dream lives! Now you know what you can do in Him. You feel it. You're a fighting machine, confident as you approach any battle. You've proven that your Commanding Officer can trust you with much as long as you abide in Him. And He's proven that you can trust Him to supply all you need in any battle.
Battles test and transform soldiers, and this test revealed the depth of your love for Him. You're stronger, and you're changed. God is a strong God, and He wants strong, confident soldiers in His kingdom who are good in a fight, even when facing daunting odds that seem overwhelming.
