The Loyalty Barrier

Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.  1 Peter 1:15

We want to be the man God designed us to be. To do that, we need to be 100% loyal to God (not 80/20, as I have often been). How can we make the transition to the next level?

All God’s men are called to break through the spiritual loyalty barrier and move from a fragile and fickle heart commitment to a fierce loyalty in Christ. Sure it’s a process and, more importantly, a fight.  But like reaching mach 1, once you have tasted the power, adventure, and freedom of this new realm your taste for subsonic commitment changes dramatically.

In “man world,” loyalty is a big deal. In fact, it’s a man’s most meaningful expression of love to another man. Look at our friendships. To us the language of love diffuses effortlessly into each other. If we love someone we are loyal to that person. So, when the Bible calls on us to risk loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, the masculine mindset feels a stronger call over amore, if you catch my drift. Whenever you find a strong allegiance in a man, you find a strong affection, and vice versa. Think Jonathan and David, or a Boston Red Sox fan. Either one makes my point.

Father, You took a risk for an imperfect person. I get to risk for a person that has perfect love for me. Wow!
