Pop Quiz

I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

Here’s two questions I’m going to ask you, and don’t be afraid of being super transparent because your relationship with the Holy Spirit is like any relationship, it can be fresh or it can be stale, it can be new or it can be old, it can be robust on a certain day, it can be fragmented on a certain day, so here’s our two questions. How would you describe your relationship with the Holy Spirit? Close, near, regular, distant, not sure, no wrong answer. Second question, this get’s more to the practical. When is it hardest to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit? Take some time today to write down your answers.

Having a successful relationship with the Holy Spirit is the quest of every God’s man.  If it is not our quest or our real desire to be partnered with Him, our journey is pretty much exhausting.  We were never created to be self-sufficient, both the Old and New Testament is a testament to that.  The biggest challenge in life is to get past the temptation of leaving a legacy of self. How many times do we have to come to this realization before we get on our knees and surrender?  Until we get to this point, we are not ever going to experience the wonderful adventure of Spirit filled life.  Yes it is an adventure, it can either be stress filled, filled with doubt and confusion, asking ourselves is this really a life I want to tell others about?  Jesus said “my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “I have come that you may have life and that you have it abundantly.”  He said he couldn’t wait to leave because we couldn’t have the Holy Spirit until He was gone.  Are you walking alone or are you with the person that wants you to experience an abundant life filled with glory and grace, topped with seeing yourself forgiven and completely guilt free?

Father, this is the life the evil one keeps from us. We truly are what we think about.
