Exchange Your Vision for God’s

The prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened. Numbers 24:4

Do you know a guy who envisioned his life turning out a certain way, but those plans fell apart? (Or maybe you can relate.) Some are angry and feel ripped off, because they were supposed to achieve their dad’s vision. A lot of men were wounded so badly by their dads that they chased the opposite vision in response. Some men were trained by tradition, their mom’s and dad’s made them feel a certain way and that’s exactly what they turned out to be. But, that’s not the man’s life, it’s the parents’.

Still other guys have built their lives on their own insecurities and masculine fears. These are the men who attach to cultural definitions of success, stock-piling pleasure, power, and possessions to gain what they could not find in their early relationships. In each of these situations the flawed dream leads to emotional, relational, and spiritual bondage.

If you’re God’s Man, the contract reads like this: “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old is gone, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:16-17)
This means: The man-made versions of greatness are supposed to be thrown out, the “in Christ” vision mutually excludes the world’s self-serving vision. Self-preservation and security must cease being a vision—you cannot be your own cause if you are God’s Man. It’s not just a wave of new behavior but a new wave of thinking that never ceases. Christ-likeness becomes all.

Father, you have given me faith, a mind that can choose your vision, and a will that can bring it into being. Wow! You are awesome.
