Revelation Versus Deception

“Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. John 14:6

Webster’s definition of truth: that which is true or in accordance of fact or reality.

Every “Aha” moment, every “Whoa, that’s deep” and every, “Now I see,” is a result of His work in your life. Jesus Christ takes full credit for all truth, all moments of revelation and all experiences with His awesome scope of reality working in and through our lives. In fact, any realization leading to greater awareness of truth and godliness has His imprint on it. Simply, God cannot confirm or bless our rejection of truth. The declaration, “I am…the truth,” automatically infers an equal and diametrically opposite declaration by Christ which is, “I am not deception.” The point is that God’s man thinks twice every time he is tempted to entertain harmful thoughts. What does synthetic and superficial feel like? A cheap knock off. It just doesn’t ring true or feel true.

We tell ourselves, “This won’t hurt anybody” or, “He’ll forgive me.” Rationalizing is the opposite of reality. Excusing ourselves from the reality of our responsibility as God’s man is deception. A Christ-like reality requires your awareness of His love for you, Christ’s character forming in you, and your partnership with the Holy Spirit. These realities expose self-deception. More importantly, God’s man knows that the acceptance or promotion of a lie produces great negative consequences. Acknowledgement and acceptance, no matter how painful, produces the greatest freedoms and blessings in life.

To be like Christ, the gloves must come off. It’s time to see, engage, and interact with what is, not what we wish it was. His reality trumps the world’s deceptions—every time.

Father, your revelation of truth versus deception has changed—and will continue to change—my life.
