What’s Your Reference Point?
Look, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Isaiah 49:16
LIFE REQUIRES GROWTH, GROWTH REQUIRES CHANGE, CHANGE REQUIRES SHIFTS. We have to acknowledge those three truths. There is a billion dollar industry that is trying to help us do that, from counselors to self help books and magazines; they are all trying to help us make these shifts so that we can get more health in our lives.
Your reference point can be you or what you see in culture, or your reference point can become Christ Jesus. Jesus is both model and mentor. When you make the transition from your best wisdom to God’s wisdom, you are going to experience a whole different dimension of life with God’s blessing.
The word for blessing in the New Testament is “mecarious” and it means to expand or enlarge. There isn’t one of us that would turn down an expanded or enlarged life. If your belief system is securely in Christ there is a difference between your wisdom and His. Only Christ can give you the peace that passes all understanding. There is no true and complete security outside of Him. There is only one North Star that you can give you true direction.
Father, thank you for being my reference point.
