Satan Hates to be Seen
When I see Paul and Barnabas acting so confidently, I see Jesus continuing to live through them, unmasking the Devil. Then I ask, “Where are men doing this today?” I look around at the men in my church as I ask this question. Are we being trained to see Satan hiding in the bushes? Jesus said the whole goal is to be good at this stuff because it means we’re becoming like Him. “Everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher” (Luke 6:40) Key words, fully trained.
Satan hates to be seen. Jesus knew this and that’s why He never entered situations with His radar turned off. He knew Satan would always show up one way or another, and He viewed Himself and His disciples as shepherds to sheep among wolves. The wolves would be ever present. He spoke of the wheat (us) growing right next to the weed, explaining that it would be that way until He came again (see Matthew 12:37-39). In this “not yet time” before the future begins.
We are living in Satan’s world, don’t forget it. But remember the power in defeating him is the recognition that we don’t have the antidote. The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. Know His Word. Just like you have placed food and sleep into your daily schedule, schedule the most important thing – your study of God’s word and the feeding of the Holy Spirit. Is this not rational?
Father, thank you for your guidance to the answer to our understanding. I do not have a chance of defeating Satan without the truth, taught through the Holy Spirit.
