You Need an Anchor

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him. I John 5:14-15

When you are confused and there’s a hick-up in the plan, you need an anchor. The anchor on your road to glory is obedience to the word of God. When you are confused and dismayed, when God’s taking you through one of the little hick-ups on the road to glory and you don’t know what to do, don’t stop obeying His word. We can learn from Joshua in Joshua 1:1-11 to stay in obedience. Discipline yourself to say no to feelings and fear and say yes to your faith and to the Word.  In the midst of Joshua’s problems God is saying, “Do not turn to the right or to the left. Hold the rudder that steers you into obedience to my will.” Then God gives him the “how to”. Verse 8 says, “Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything in it, then you will be prosperous and successful.” Meditation means to think deeply and continuously on something.  You have to dwell in it; you have to think deeply on it.

Father, your word is light unto my path. I trust your love for me.
