The Heart of the Gospel

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

The axis for understanding our relationship and responsibility to Him in our world means to clearly see how our personal story of deliverance as believers is an expression of the heart of God.  His movement toward us and for us is the exact picture of what should be our movement toward others in His name.  When we see our own deliverance clearly, we — see God more clearly — perceive our own condition and character more clearly — grasp Christ’s mission on earth more meaningfully — understand the work of the Holy Spirit through us more fully — realize the goals of our ministry more fruitfully — identify with those we are called to reach more readily — identify with Christ as tender warrior more visibly.

The Holy Spirit makes men who are like Jesus — fearless, focused, and filled with God’s power — to deliver freedom to waiting souls.  We see the Holy Spirit taking up this mission at Pentecost, rising up 120 tender warriors ready to do His will and be delivered to their death if necessary.  These men, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, show us exactly how to continue the expression of God’s heart for spiritual captives.

Jesus said we would be His witnesses: men who give evidence after seeing, experiencing, and encountering the Holy Spirit that leads to further encounters with His delivering power. Men who, in his character, are ready to fight for freedom of everyone who is held captive.

It’s time to do battle.
Father, my identity is in you. You are my mojo. Thank you for loving me.
