Encouragement

“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.  Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves” Galatians 5:16

Say: “I am a son of the living God. I am Your son. I love being Your son. Thank You, Father, for Your strong assurance in my life that calms me and reminds me today that I have no reason to fear anyone or anything.  You are my Father.  I am in your custody, and I trust You. Thank you for loving me so completely and totally.  Thank You for my son-ship.  Father I’m asking You to help me be a passionate son like Christ.  Help me accept and use this life changing gift of encouragement.”

We all need encouragement in our lives.  I know my biggest lack of encouragement comes when I take my eyes off Him and start thinking about my selfish inconsistency, my thoughtlessness, my none caring attitude. Your lack of encouragement may come from what others have done to you, whatever. Funny when my eyes come off him and onto me, Satan has his way of ripping me a new one.

It’s a good thing to take inventory, it has a way of bringing us into reality, but I have always liked the concept of the “glance gaze theory.” I must glance at the past and gaze on the future.  My past is not me, my future is. God has taken an eraser and given me a clean slate. Wow! Talk about encouragement; think about no past, no guilt, and no shame. How often have we said, “If only I could do that over” Well? It’s here baby! Claim the basic gift that God has for every one of his children. Go out and do it the right way this time. Be encouraged. You are loved perfectly.

Father, You are a blessing beyond all blessings. I love you!
