Rooted in Unconditional Acceptance

“You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased”
Luke 3:22

The relationship was solidly intact because of the expression and unique awareness of the Father’s acceptance and affirmation of the Son, independent of his exploits.

Jesus hadn’t done a thing at this point and boom! A nuclear-sized expression of love on the part of the Father toward his Son. All fear is dispelled, rebuked, and restricted from winning over the heart of the Son because it’s full of the Father’s love.  With this type of love pulsating from His Father towards him, Jesus could afford to emotionally and relationally live for an audience of One and the will of One.  He would not need the approval or acceptance of men.  This made him fearless in His focus and pursuit of the Father’s priorities for his time on earth.

What impact would it have on our lives if we could only begin to understand the Father’s acceptance toward us? Think about it, we did absolutely nothing before the announcement of his unconditional love for us. When you couple the fact that he not only has come in to us but that we are in him. He has come at this love and acceptance thing, from every angle; He has left no stone unturned in His communication. Bro, He is smiling on us every second of the day.  The only thing that can keep us from understanding and acting on this is Satan.  He does everything in his power to lie, cheat, and steal our Father’s love from us, condemning us. Romans 8:1, “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”  Yes but, there is no yes but. Don’t over think this; it is absolutely crucial in our motivation in sharing His gift to us with others. Why would we not want to share this excitement, this Disneyland of truth with someone else?

Father, I have a smile on my face, like the cat that swallowed the canary.
