Release of Power
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. John 14:16
There is power in truth. No powerful force can compare to the fierce and awesome power of the Holy Spirit’s filling a man, changing that man forever, and exploding God’s love back out of that man into the world to advance the Kingdom of God. That is what Jesus said would happen to every believer who makes strong his relationship to the Holy Spirit. You might be thinking, how does this relationship with the Holy Spirit differ — if at all — from my relationship with God the Father and Jesus?
I’m attracted to powerful things, the short list includes tornadoes, jet fighter, big guns, explosives, linebackers (in a bromatic way), meteors, rhinos, etc.
You may ask, is he including the Holy Spirit on this list? Yes I am.
The Holy Spirit made it onto that list because He does things that make my Jaw extend, my lungs take in crazy amounts of air, my mouth pucker, my voice shout and my head shake in mind-bending disbelief at — you guessed it — the POW-UH, baby! I see the things He does to people. I see the answers to prayer He brings. I see the relationships He heals, and I have seen and experienced the powerful changes His presence has produce in my own family, life, and relationships.
No powerful force can compare to the fierce and awesome power of the Holy Spirit’s filling a man, changing that man forever. Look what He did for Peter. That is what Jesus said would happen to every believer who makes strong his relationship to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit contains all the power of the God head and he is with you at this very moment.
Holy Spirit, you are the source of my power today!
