God’s GPS System


“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being” (Ephesians 3:16)


The Bible says to do only these things when it comes to the Holy Spirit: appropriate His leadership, influence, and control daily by simply placing our selves under His control.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re a pastor or a brand-new believer. All of us must practice this daily discipline to win against evil.  We “turn on” what’s already inside by saying, Holy Spirit, I surrender to Your control today. Lead me, guide me, and control me. Like I said simple, but it’s also hard because Satan viciously opposes our submission to that leadership.  It’s a power issue: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being”.


We activate God’s GPS System by praying that right now.  Then we must cooperate with where the Holy Spirit says to go in our attitudes and actions.  That’s the interactive part. “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:8). This passage is a battlefield scenario calling for close communication. Jesus told His disciples that the Holy Spirit would be His GPS System to guide them in the fight.


In war, the first thing an enemy will try to do is knock out your guidance system. But God’s man discerns the Holy Spirit’s voice very simply: it’s always consistent with the character of God and His Word. Simply ask, “Does this align with the character of Christ and His Word?
