We don’t live our faith out in a vacuum. There is no such thing as a Lone Ranger, or Marlboro Man in the family of Christ. We need one another. Period. So, is our role simply to police and discipline one another? No. God’s man needs men to call him up, not simply call him out. Relationships on earth define our life on earth. As a follower of Jesus, this relationship completely shapes every dimension of life by mirroring what he experienced. Every man has his ways. In fact, our patterns of thinking and living, believing and behaving can be so consistently manifested that we can use it as an excuse for not changing. “I am the way I am,” is the defense. The problem is that the people or circumstances connected to our lives might not be as forgiving as the fear and the pride inside of us make their case in our brains. Just think about how many problems have been created, how many partnerships have blown up, and how many relationships have been destroyed because of a fear that created an unwillingness to risk change. God says, that mindset and approach does not work for him. In fact, Jesus declares that in order for you to experience the most out of your relationship with him – someone has to die. Specifically, the man you feel you need to be needs to go – the one which prevents the man God is calling you to be from becoming a reality.
A defining moment is a point in your life when you’re urged to make a pivotal decision, or when you experience something that fundamentally changes you. Not only do these moments define us, but they have a transformative effect on our perceptions and behaviors. This is God’s intention when you decide to
cross the line into a relationship with Christ. In fact, a

Has someone ever asked you to do something and you didn’t feel like doing it? Your first thought is “Now? Why now?” You have things to do. You have plans right now. You have needs that will go unmet if you say yes. All valid but because of who is asking you do what is requested, you don’t voice any of those reasons saying “no” and you fulfill the request of the “asker.” How about when God asks?
