Reside in the Glory of Your Reality
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and He will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Your reality is God’s glory. Everything that is happening in your life, especially the things you want to keep secret, are ingredients in God’s greatness. You might be thinking, I don’t want God to use that! That’s exactly what God wants to use, your now life, not your cleaned up version. To find the dream, He prefers struggles over strengths. One gives God glory, the other gives you glory. Yep! It’s the lepers that God got excited about and He put the clean to shame. Got some spots that are dotting your epidermis right now? Got old spots and scars that masks can’t cover? God is operating in your realities today, not in the ideal future.
Sound weird? You’re in good company. “As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ ‘Neither this man nor his parent sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life’” (John 9:1–3).
Reality is where glory resides. I know this from personal experience. If the disciples saw me as a seventeen year old, they would have asked, “Lord, who sinned, this man or his parents that he should be doing drugs, lying, and making choices that will ruin his future?” Jesus would have said, “This is happening so that the work of God can be displayed in his life.” And it has! Feeling better? The result is that God’s man bears His reality and others see the transformation and begin to believe!
Father, you are very aware of my life as it is, and I will trust You to direct me. You have given me the will and the self-discipline to execute.
